ENJOY YOUR FLIGHT

158833Hope is too heavy a load for anyone’s shoulders other than God. When we trust on ourselves – our strength, skills, experiences, contacts etc – we risk caving under the weight of our hope. When we put trust on others we strain them, sooner or later they will  also crumble under the weight of our hope .

God says  in Jeremiah 17: 5-8 “Cursed are those who put their trust in mere humans, who rely on human strength and turn their hearts away from the Lord. They are like stunted shrubs in the desert, with no hope for the future. They will live in the barren wilderness, in an uninhabited salty land.”

When we let other people put trust on us we also risk crumbling under the weight of their expectation. Even some generous people live under extreme strain by allowing others to heavily lean on them instead of helping them put their trust in God.

“But”, the Bible continues, “blessed are those who trust in the Lord and have made the Lord their hope and confidence. They are like trees planted along a riverbank, with roots that reach deep into the water. Such trees are not bothered by the heat or worried by long months of drought.Their leaves stay green, and they never stop producing fruit.”

Allowing worries of this life strain us is like being on board airplane with your heavy luggage still on your person instead of putting it in a luggage cabin. If God carries the weight of the world upon His shoulders He’s also carrying us  and our troubles. All we need to do is to put your worries down, off your shoulders.

Today may you trust God enough to let Him sort your life and the lives of those you care about.  Enjoy your flight!
